How to make money with paid surveys

If you’re looking for that little extra, for what ever reason, paid surveys can provide a way to easily make 50p-£50 per survey.

But how do they work?

There a lot of companies out there that offer these surveys so I have some tips for people who are looking to pursue this method of income.

More is More

As I said, there are a lot of these companies available but not all have a surveys available all the time.  Sign up to 20 or so then you will have a range of surveys to choose from.  A large survey site may provide 1 a day and you may only be suitable for 2-3 of those in a week.

Be Quick

Some surveys have a specified quota that the company will need to fill.  If the surveys fills up you will miss out.  Remember that this could be a quota based on various attributes such as age range, location, if you have purchased a particular product or service recently or are planning to in the future etc  If you are 43, non-smoker from Florida, but you are the 11th person aged 35-45, non-smoker from Florida and they only need 0 from this particular demographic, you will miss out.

Be Honest

These companies will profile you to determine which surveys you are suitable for.  Don’t generalise yourself in order to fit in to as many as possible, if found out you could lose potential income.  You need to be truthful while keeping your options broad in order to fit.  A lot of companies will reward tyou with prize draw entries should you fail to fit in to the demographic.

Be Patient

As we have seen, you will only get offered a few surveys of which you are only eligible for a percentage.  Also bear in mind that most of these companies often do not pay on a “per-survey” basis but rather wait until you reach a set figure before funds are released.  If you persist eventually you will start to see reward for your efforts.

Product Testing and Group tasks

On completion of some surveys, if you fit the bill you may be asked to test a product or attend a focus group.  These can pay up to £200 for a few hours of your time.  They may mail you a product to test and review, or be invited to take part in a larger group survey where you will spoken to directly. (This is REALLY where the being honest part comes in)

Help Yourself

You can receive a lot of emails from these companies.  Try setting up a free email account separate from your own in order to keep track of your survey invites.  This will also help with seeing an invitation as soon as it comes into your in-box to get there first.
